L' Empordà is a historic region of Catalonia, which takes its name from the ancient Greek colony of Ampurias (Empúries). Nowadays, Girona is divided into four regions: Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà, Pla de l'Estany and Gironés.
Lots of things stand out from this place. One of them is its proximity to the sea and the Costa Brava, but also its exquisite gastronomy.
Our hotel is also located very near to the Costa Brava. This well-known area is very popular thanks to its beauty, stunning beaches and coves with crystal clear waters. It is also the place where the sea and the sky fuse with the green colour of the Mediterranean pine forests.
This coast starts in Blanes and ends at the French border. Apart from its beautiful coves like Cala Boadella, you will also find incredible towns along this coast.
On the Costa Brava, it is also important to highlight Almadraba Beach. One of the most charming and stunning beaches in this part of the Mediterranean.
Figueres is the regional capital of Alt Empordà, inside the province of Girona. It is very famous for being the place where Salvador Dalí was born and lived. That’s why there are various historic monuments of one of the leading representatives of surrealism.
It is also important to mention that Narcís Monturiol, the submarine pioneer, was also born in Figueres.
This is a museum dedicated exclusively to the painter, sculptor, engraver, stage designer and writer. It is notable for being the third most visited museum in Spain.

In northwest Spain, very near to the Oñar river, we can find Girona. This Catalonian city is famous for its medieval architecture. Two key places where you can see this architecture are the walled Old Town (Barrio Viejo) and the Roman ruins of the Força Vella fortress.
One place you really must visit when you come to Girona is its impressive Cathedral. Also known as the Cathedral of Santa María of Gerona, it is situated at the highest point of the city and features the widest Gothic nave in the world.
One of the most popular activities in El Empordà is golf. The good weather makes it the idyllic place to enjoy this outdoor sport. Moreover, the weather in this part of Catalonia also enables golf to be enjoyed most of the year round.
Some of the best-known golf courses in the area are located just a few kilometres away from the hotel. Without a doubt, they are areas full of nature and ideal for lovers of this sport.
Between the Ter, Oñar and Güell rivers, we can find the Devesa park. In the heart of Girona, you will find this spectacular park, considered the largest urban park in Catalonia. It is the ideal place to lose track of time.
This park stretches more than 40 hectares. One of its most famous corners are the Devesa gardens. A space surrounded by a small river with flora and fauna of interest both scientifically and because of its beauty.
Peralada Castle is situated in l'Empordà. Built in the 19th century, in its beginnings it was known as the Castle of Tolón. Nowadays it is regarded as Spain's Historic Heritage in the category of Asset of Cultural Interest.
It is possible to visit Peralada Castle and it is definitely a place you should take time to stop at in L’Emporda. Its incredible library, a museum full of glass and ceramic utensils, its church and cellar.
